Chairman's Monthly Report, August-September 2009

On July 31st, I received a call from Vancouver, Canada that Fairfax County had been selected to host the World Police & Fire Games in summer of 2015. My congratulations to Team Fairfax, headed by Police Lt. Bruce Blechl, for winning the honor of bringing this prestigious event to Fairfax. It is the largest international athletic competition after the World Olympics and will bring significant economic benefits to our county. Members of Team Fairfax will appear before the Board to be thanked for their efforts on September 14th. See inside for more information!
